U.S. Monetary History

The Carl Menger Center is in the midst of an ongoing project to compile every law related to money and banking that has been passed by the United States Congress. The purpose of this project is to provide a resource for the public and for researchers to examine how the American monetary and banking system has been structured since the adoption of the Constitution.

As the compilation, formating, and commentary on these laws is a massive undertaking, these laws and any commentary on them will be uploaded to the website over a period of time. We hope that you will find this resource of use.
